Biography
Eason Chan Yik-Shun is a prominent male singer and is a part of the skilled class (???) in Hong Kong’s music industry. Eason is an artist of Cinepoly Records, which belongs to Universal Music Group. He is also married to long-time girlfriend Hilary Tsui, and has a daughter Constance, born in Oct 2004.
Eason was sent to England to study at the age of 12. He attended Dauntsey‘s
School in Wiltshire, England and later Kingston University majoring in
architecture. Eason returned to Hong Kong before finishing his degree to
participate in the 1995 New Talent Singing Competition and subsequently won first place. Immediately after his win, Capital Artists signed him and thus ended his future career as an architect.
Since then, Eason has fully committed himself to making music. Eason Chan is a frequent winner of Hong Kong music awards, his most recent awards include the prestigious Hong Kong’s Most Popular Male Singer of 2006 Award given by TVB. His album U87, released in 2005, has been recommended by Time Magazine as one of the five best Asian albums worth buying. U87 also has won the top sale of album (non-concert, non-collection category) in Hong Kong in 2005.
