Cee Jay’s Place Donate Funds for Charity

Cee Jay’s Place, a hotspot for musicians and music-lovers alike, located in the heart of Petaling Jaya; have helped to raise RM13,560.20 for the MAA – MEDIcare Kidney Charity Fund. Thanks to their fundraising efforts during the Charity Music Fiesta event that was held recently on Saturday, 12 December 2009, the funds were handed over by Christopher Joseph, owner of Cee Jay’s Place, in a brief cheque presentation ceremony held yesterday.

The funds were collected from the sales of food and beverage coupons, lucky draws as well as the sales of well-sought after auction items, during the 12 –hour Charity Music Fiesta. The event, which had started from 2pm on Saturday and played on till the wee hours of the next morning, received an overwhelming response with more than 250 guests attending the charity do.

The Charity Music Fiesta spanned for an incredible 12 hours, with 10 bands entertaining guests with unique rock sounds and styles throughout the whole event.

“This is a fantastic achievement by Cee Jay’s Place. Our valuable patrons, members of the bands, as well as our staff members; gathered together to help raise funds for a good cause. Our special thanks to our sponsor, Guinness Anchor Berhad, as well as our patrons, for helping to make the Charity Music Fiesta a success,” Christopher Joseph, owner of Cee Jay’s Place was quoted saying.

The Charity Music Fiesta this year is the Fund’s third installation, organized in aid of the MAA – MEDIcare Kidney Charity Fund, after successfully holding it two times before. The Charity Music Fiesta is planned to be held annually.

‘Aliyah Karen, Vice President of MAA – MEDIcare Kidney Charity Fund quoted, “ it was a ‘fun’ way to raise funds and to see so many people step forward to show their support was encouraging. It was our way of giving ‘something back’ to the donors for their support and music seemed and felt right. Christopher, his team and the patrons helped us surpass our initial target of RM10,000. We are thrilled!”

The MAA-MEDIcare Kidney Charity Fund is a non-profit public trust fund, established to provide highly-subsidised dialysis treatment, medical care, consultation and patient welfare to kidney failure patients in MEDIcare’s 12 centres nationwide. Their centres now house 166 dialysis machines which serve almost 700 patients.
