A London native with over 15 years of experience in the bar and restaurant scene, Dan Thompson is the Director of Twenty One Tables and Terrace. He and business partner Richard Holland founded the bistro in Changkat Bukit Bintang in 2007. (VIDEO INTERVIEW BELOW)
Twenty One Tables and Terrace has an interesting backstory, with the number displaying a significant meaning for its founders. Initially they had thought the building outlet was a Number 21, which then turned out to be a Number 20.Then, they discovered there were 21 steps leading up to it.
One also has to be over 21 to enter an alcohol-serving premise.
The brand has now been expanded to Bangsar Village 2, with an outlet that overlooks the Bangsar skyline.
Here, Thompson dished out some interesting household friendly Christmas cocktail recipes, which are Vodka-based. The vodka of choice is ‘Grey Goose: World’s Best Tasting Vodka’.
At the mixology session, some very unique and unexpected concoctions were created, shown below (Recipes/descriptions from Grey Goose/Twenty One):
1. Popcorn Martini
No need for the cinema to get your popcorn hit. Grey Goose vodka shaken with our homemade corn syrup, caramel, butter, and honey.
2. Kiss My Fat Lips
A grown up shake of Grey Goose, baileys, fresh raspberry & chocolate.
3. Cucumber Sandwich
Oh how English! A tall summer mix of Grey Goose, cucumber, pimms & fruit.
4. French Berry Martini
The French got this martini right. Grey Goose vodka mixed with chambord, pineapple and for a twist we added some blackberry syrup.
5. The Bloody Mary
Combining culinary skills with mixology. This classic mix is based with Grey Goose vodka and highlighted with our horseradish foam.
