As the first-ever Rap Battle event in Malaysia, TYGS aka Think You Got Skillz has been a regular monthly platform for Local and International Hip Hop Artists in KL since August 2008. Since its humble beginnings, TYGS has garnered much acclaim and notoriety.
Having been voted “Best Small Room Event 2008” by Juice Magazine, the event has received press in Junk, Juice, Klue, Rentak Sejuta, Time Out KL and The Star. TYGS’s founder Emcee Vandal has been interviewed numerous times to talk about TYGS and has also hosted battles for Xpax’s UOX events in March & April 2009.
Previous sponsors for TYGS events have been Nike, Echo Park, Cloth & Clef, The Singing Shop, 1Asia, Junk Magazine, Urban Camper Entertainment & Xross-Fader.
Celebrating its 1st anniversary, TYGS is relaunching with the release of:
“TYGS – The Compilation Vol. 1”. As a tribute to those who have been supporters of the event, the CD will feature the likes of Vandal, Kraft, Jin Hackman, The Diplomats International, Samir & Dose Two.

TYGS Relaunch Event:
- Venue: Cloth & Clef, Changkat Bukit Bintang
- Date: August 7th 2009, Friday
- Time: 10pm
- Performances by: Dose Two, Jin Hackman, Young Stunna, Kraft, Dugod & Silk Road.
- Keeping the freestyling alive, there will also be an Open Mic session for anyone in attendance to get loose!
- The official DJs for the night will be The Silk Road (Illsteez & Vandal) and will be hosted by TYGS’s founder – Vandal.
The First 100 people through the door will receive a FREE copy of the TYGS Compilation CD!
