Carrie Stetko , the lone U.S. Marshall assigned to Antarctica, desperately tries to reach for a gun.

Antarctica, the coldest and most isolated place on earth with temperatures that drop to 120 degrees and below.  The winds whip across the ice at over 100 miles an hour and the Antarctic is home to one of the deadliest forces in the world—the whiteout.

It’s a place U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko (KATE BECKINSALE) won’t miss and as the lone law enforcement agent at the Amundsen-Scott Research Station, her tenure here has been not only harsh but uneventful.  In three days, when the station powers down and the sun sets for the long winter, she’ll be getting out; leaving Antarctica for good and turning in her badge for a new life…or will she?
Kate Beckinsale’s new venture into a role as a U.S. deputy marshal was somewhat of a daring choice after her movie, Underworld (2003) –where she played a kick arse vampire huntress and got her the recognition as one of Hollywood’s hottest actress.

Needless to say, this psychological-thriller movie had a pretty average and predictable plot but the fake snow and blizzard was convincing –especially when you’re watching it in a meat-freezer temperature movie theatre. You literally felt like you were there, running around in the snow with the air conditioning on full blast.

Whiteout

There’s always psychotic killer lurking around especially when you’re in a somewhat isolated area without any means of getting help at all and the only help you could get is if you deal with it yourself.

Whiteout

Whiteout is nothing much to rave about…really.
