DJayPee, who remixed a single in tribute to MJ (called the Bad/I Feel Love Remix), featured recently on Voize.my, answers our questions about his nifty beats.

1. Hi DJayPee, how often do you compose and mix these days?
I’d like to compose 24 hours a day! In fact I come up with around two to three tracks per month, whether new compositions or remixes. I usually post them on my site www.djaypee.com and/or on facebook (I invite voize.my readers to join me on my facebook group “DjayPee”, where I do give away several tracks for free).

2. How quick did it take you to remix MJ’s Bad with ‘I Feel Love’?

Quite quickly in fact, probably around 4 hours. I happened to have the a cappella (MJ singing only with no instruments) of “Bad”, and of course all the elements of “I Feel Love” as I created it. Blending them came surprisingly easily and quite naturally.

3. What are you currently working on, and when will it be available?
Several things, among others:
- the promotion of “Kids” (VIMA award) with Nicky C thru Sonic Vogue Records; the track and its many remixes have just been released digitally worldwide,
- the video of “I Fell Love” (voize.my will be informed first!),
- a new track “Dreamland”, that I started while in Bali, which seems to be catchy from the first reactions I got; I’ll release it in September,
- several Lounge remixes of current pop tracks.

4. Are you performing anywhere at the moment?
No, I’m stuck in my studio!

5. Who do you think will be the next King of Pop?
I would bet on MADONNA. In that case, “Queen of Pop” would be more appropriate!

DJayPee adds: Billie Jean by Immortal Souls is cool, and the montage by John Nasir is quite nice.
