The first season of Live & Inspire Series was kicked off by Dr. V. Sivapalan at Bangsar Village 2 just a couple of hours ago bringing together a crowd of 60 at the Starbucks cafe. It was yet another inspiring sharing on how entrepreneurs should do more than just dream big; entrepreneurship is about having an idea that would change the way mankind do things and bringing that very idea to life.
Being the successful entrepreneur himself, Dr. Siva shared his experience of encountering with many aspiring entrepreneurs and explained how an entrepreneur should think and strategize his/her big idea in order to succeed. He believes that there are many talented and smart people in Malaysia but in order for them to be the next Bill Gates, they will have to come out from their cocoon and think global.
“In Malaysia, if you have a good idea, you don’t have to worry about money. That’s the privilege we have in this country,” he told the crowd as he highlighted the various source of financial support one could receive either from the government or bank loans. He also emphasized on the importance of having a good team to realize the idea or vision an entrepreneur might have.
The season kicked off with the topic on entrepreneurship, in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009 (GEW) that was launched early this week. The 45-minute session has been an inspiring one to those who have turned up for the evening. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur, this is one session you wouldn’t want to miss. And if you did, no worries…you can catch the re-run at www.liveandinspire.com as the session is recorded for all to be inspired.
Don’t forget to catch the second session of the Live and Inspire Series next week as we will be having Jason Lo in the house. He will be sharing with you about what is the one thing that music, soccer and a CEO have in common. Find out more about the event at http://www.facebook.com/liveandinspire and www.liveandinspire.com
