


In July 2008, HELP University College established the School of Hospitality and Tourism as well as the students HELP Tour Club with satisfactory results of respectively 39 regular students, 100 students in Foundation Program and 100 members of the Club.
The School offers today a Bachelor of Business (Hospitality Management) waiting for the Full Accreditation and a panel of 50 short courses. Certificates and Diplomas are currently under development and the Bachelor of Tourism is submitted to the authorities. Working in the present and thinking about the future is their motivation in order to offer the market the best programs with the best teachers to attract the best students.
Since 1980, on the 27th of September, the United Nations World Tourism Organisation celebrates the WORLD TOURISM DAY. This date was chosen to conincide with the anniversary of the adoption of the UNWTO statutes on the 27th September 1970. The main purpose of the World Tourism Day is to raise awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political, and economic values.
As for this year, the WTD celebrates its 30th anniversary, the UNWTO decided on a new and innovative theme as ‘Tourism – Celebrate Diversity’, hosted in Ghana on 27 September. To commemorate the occasion too, HELP University College, The School of Hospitality and Tourism associated with the students HELP Tour Club decided to organise this event for the first time on Wednesday 7 October 2009, from 4 to 6 pm in the university college.
