Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in conjunction with UNICEF organised a charitable concert aiming to raise funds for the victims of the Haiti earthquake which happened in January claiming more than 100 000 victims and leaving an estimated three millions affected by the quake.
Students coming from more than 150 countries worldwide joined hands with lecturers and the university staff to organise this concert.
The concert scheduled for the 10th of February at 6.00pm, will take place at the Limkokwing University Hall of Fame.
The money collected from the ticket sales will be used to provide emergency relief aid to Haiti in terms of food, medical kits as well as materials to help rebuild the devastated island.
Boxes will be displayed all around campus prior to the event day for students and passer bys to put in their contribution.
The concert will include vocal, dancing and instrumental performances by Limkokwing students coming from more than 15 countries worldwide.
These performances will signify the student’s sympathy towards the victims in Haiti.
The concert strives to promote world peace and as the international sphere that is Limkokwing University promotes understanding of each others cultures and the ability to respect and co-exist in harmony and this concert is a chance for the students to come together as one and bring cheer for a good cause.
Students from International high schools in the Kuala Lumpur vicinity will be invited to participate in this event as the university’s vision to bring this event on a global scale.
In 2009, Limkokwing University organised a “heal the world” concert towards the Plight for Palestine and to help solve the crisis in the Middle East.
Note : Tickets will be sold at RM10 for students and RM20 for the general public.
