SportsUnite’s humble vision to reach out to the youth  at grassroots and promote the spirit of unity through sports continued with the successful organization of yet another unity event participated by 16 multi-racial netball teams in an under 16 event titled

“ U R MY SIS Unity Netball Carnival” held at the Bukit Jalil Sports School recently.

This unity netball carnival was fully supported by MILO,FigosBukit Jalil Sports School and Institut Sukan Negara.

It  has become common knowledge to all participating in SportsUnite events that teams must comprise participants of at least 2 races at all playing times on the court.This event was no exception.While most teams had  predominantly Malay participants with a few Indians in each team,it is the hope of SportsUnite that more Chinese and Indians girls will  play this wonderful game in the future to reflect the spirit of 1Malaysia.

So successful was the unity concept  in the event that  the coaches and technical officials  expressed the hope that SportsUnite with sponsors can support a Under 12 event  in future.

Sek Men Section 11,Shah Alam that sent 2 teams were winners with both teams making it to the finals after many hard fought games in the preliminary rounds and semifinal stages.

Sek Men Section 11 Team A narrowly beat Team Cluster 11-9 in the first semis while Sek Men Section 11 Team B hard to work just as hard to beat Methodist Girl School Klang 10-8 in the other semis.

The all Sek Men Section 11 Shah Alam Finals saw Team A outplay Team B 10-5 to emerge champions.

The top 4 teams were presented with winners medals and items from MILO and Figos.

All in all the 16 teams had a wonderful time playjng the game,developing their skills and making new friends and rekindling the sports culture at grassroots..

There were no winners or losers,all were winners in promoting the game and the spirit of unity.It was a weekend well spent playing and enjoying sports.
