Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB)

The Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) canine welfare project was conceptualized and launched by non-governmental organization Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII) in Sept 2008. The main objective of the project is to rescue and rehome stray dogs and puppies as well as to educate the general public and local councils on pet care and humane methods of dealing with stray and unwanted dogs.

MDDB, which advocates a no kill policy, also works towards promoting the sterilization of pet dogs regardless of their breed to prevent over-population. The project is currently embarking on a Trap, Neuter and Release exercise which has worked well in dealing with stray overpopulation in many countries in the world including India, Nepal and Indonesia.
