Ore Malaysia 00080In a country that is rich in a diverse range of culture and heritage as Malaysia, it is essential that unity is embedded in the soul of every Malaysian. Today, unity is not only about learning and understanding the other cultures but it is about embracing the differences as our own and adopting to create the 1 culture.

“We will not be moving as separate communities, but as 1 Malaysia and we will be stronger. I hope all will join me to bring Malaysia to greater heights”, so is the call of our sixth Prime Minister, Dato Seri Najib Tun Razak, in his vision to create a more unified Malaysia. It is this call that Muthu Kumaran Sembiah, or better known as MK, has come forth to answer with his pledge towards “Unity & Harmony through Melody” through the release of his new Tamil song “ORE MALAYSIA” which is in support of the Prime Minister’s 1 Malaysia vision.

ORE Malaysia which is the title of the song is a direct translation of 1 Malaysia. MK, who has envisioned and brought together a team of talent that contributed to the birth of this song, has injected the perspective of 1 Malaysia as he sees it, in every possible aspect of the song. Though the question should arise as to what’s so unique about this track? Aside from its beat and lyrics which promotes racial integration, this song was sung in Tamil by three artists of three different race and ethnicity. If that is not a reason good enough to grant this song a different taste, MK has also brought together 10 musicians of different races to play instruments that depict the culture of the 3 main races in Malaysia as the song houses the wealth of these instruments that are normally never played together in 1 song.

MK, who is a singer and actor that has been in the Malaysian entertainment scene for more than 10 years, is the brainchild behind this marvel as he is also the main lead vocal of the song. With the influence of his sister, Datin Seri Manimala who was also a prominent artist, MK has performed in many concerts and acted in a few TV series and musical, with “P.Ramlee the Musical” being an addition to his portfolio. MK’s ‘Carnatic’ and ‘Sangetham’ knowledge and ability, adds a good feel to this song.

Raja Putri Atilia or better known as Atilia, is a not a new name in the local industry either. Atilia has crossed the language barrier to sing this song in Tamil and has yet retained her soulful touch, to add an exceptional feel to ORE Malaysia. The final lead singer is Calvin Lau who represents the Chinese community. Calvin has performed in many shows and concerts, many of which, he is invited to sing as the representative of the Chinese community in Malaysia. A diversified singer, Calvin has also managed to give his bit in ORE Malaysia, by also crossing the language barrier.

“The release of ORE Malaysia, as a track is merely the first step. A lot more has to be done to promote racial integration in line with the Prime Minister’s vision and we are currently in the midst of shooting the music video for Ore Malaysia as it will visually show how all of us have come together as 1 to bring forth this amazing Tamil song” said MK.
