It seems that Slank is trying to get a message out there. “Don’t be afraid, come out and conquer the world by dancing…” as per Slank Dance suggested.

Monogamy is one of my personal principal which I hold on close to my heart in life. Therefore hearing Slank’s Monogami sure lights me up. It is a song about loyalty and love, for one. It may not be your lovey-dovey slow love song, but it sure speaks out loud enough for people to choose being monogamy.

Slank has always been very true and brutal in their lyrics. Gossip Jalanan is one good example of such. It talks about the politics in Indonesia, how bribery and manipulation are being used to gain power. That somehow did create some sort of controversy because the parliamentarians did threaten to sue them because of the song.

Terbunuh Sepi is a song about loneliness. Pretty sad one :(

Bendera ½ Tiang – A song with very strong lyrics as well – It talks about war and how many more lives are we willing to sacrifice? When a flag is being flown half way, it symbolises death. Slank wanted the people to remember those who die during war.

Indonesiakan Una is a song about culture and raising up a child with full integrity and love for the country. It is a song to remind people, not just the people in Indonesia but in almost all of the Asian country that it’s about time for us to stop westernise our kids but to start instil in them the love and loyalty of our own  country. This song is also recorded live during the Slankers Day.

Slank!

Slank!

All in all, it is an album worth spinning. Very strong lyrics and great melody!
