1. Tell us all about HP Space and what kinds of creativity we’re looking at.

I don’t have a judging role, mine is to facilitate the judging, like in reality shows. There will be 8 episodes in the series, we’re looking at the most creative person in Asia – in whatever shape and form from various disciplines. Some of these include animation, there people who teach graphic design, etc. Its difficult to define who will be the winner.

Currently we have just shot the first episode, which will air on 10th and 11th November respectively, covering various forms of creativity. It might be interior design for example, there’s a whole range of challenges. Personally what the challenges will be are as much a secret from me as they are from the contestants. I don’t know the challenges myself until the day before.

2. Why did you decide to host HP Space?

Well, it was a no-brainer actually, I received a call from Star World. When David, the producer asked if I would be keen, and gave me the outline, I was delighted.

3. Is there any advice you would like to give to the 16 contestants of HP Space?

Well, they will be critiqued quite heavily throughout the show by the judges, so they musn’t take it personally. It helps them to be better. They will be embroiled in a brand new world, there’s going to be a lot of humble pie. Leave your ego at the door.

4. What do the winners stand to win? Will there be only one winner?

Yes, there will be one winner, who will receive 50 000 USD, and a chance to work on a live-action production of a hit anime series called Bubblegum Crisis.

5. Would you like to talk about some of your own personal projects, apart from HP Space?

I’m still with ESPN Sports, and hosted the F1 race show just recently. I’m hosting a tennis show called Ace, and at the end of the year I should be an anchor on Sports Center.
